Color Coding

Homeland Security uses the color coded ‘Homeland Security Advisory System’.
The Environmental Protection Agency uses the color coded ‘Air Quality Index System’.
The first is green. Green for the Homeland means make a plan. Green for the EPA means Good.
Next is blue. Blue for the Homeland means be alert for suspicious activity and report it to proper authorities. There is no blue for the EPA.
Next is yellow. Yellow for the Homeland means to continue to be alert to suspicious activity and report it to proper authorities. Yellow for the EPA means the air is Moderate.
Next is orange. Orange for the Homeland means to exercise caution when traveling, pay attention to travel advisorie. The word advisorie is supposed to be ‘advisories’ – refer to :

‘Readiness before accuracy!’
Orange for the EPA means that the air is Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.
Next is red. Red for Homeland means that you should expect traffic delays and restrictions. Red for the EPA means the air quality is Unhealthy.
Next is purple. Purple for the Homeland means nothing – they stop at Red. Purple for the EPA means the air is Very Unhealthy.
The next level is maroon. Maroon for the Homeland means nothing also – warnings from Homeland stop at red. Maroon for the EPA means that the air is Hazardous to breathe.
I feel too much money is spent on things that do not keep us safe while actions that could make us safe are not taken.
