Little Tin Soldier

Tommy Franks is at it again.
Complaining about the world as he knows it.
He is attacking Senator Kerry – who happens to be running for the office of the President of the United States.
A ‘military’ man, Franks knew his place and kept his mouth shut while serving in the Army. Politics and the military don’t mix in the United States. Politics when you have left the military is okay, however, when those politics are half formed and partisan then there is a problem. Tommy Franks is exhibiting that problem.
Tommy Franks has a very limited view of the world. This is proven out by the way in which he conducted his career in the Army. A product of the failures in Vietnam and a never ending fountain of money for military contractors, Tommy Franks, in my opinion, lives in a fantasy world of personal opinion which obscures fact from fantasy.
Tommy Franks is one of those monsters in the military who has envisioned a ‘global force’ for the United States. Emulating Alexander the Great and stories of Roman Generals he has supported the promotion and command by race in order to put a gentle face on the Army. For example – who better to lead an Army in the Middle East than an American Arab – like Abizaid? Who better to bring discipline and terror to Cuba and Columbia than an American Hispanic – like Sanchez?
The problem has been that in order to fulfill this peppered vision of the ‘global force’ Tommy Franks and his tin-star brethren forgot one thing – competence. Neither Abizaid nor Sanchez show any. Franks was very good at moving plastic tanks around a play table, but when it came to making military decisions he failed.
Abizaid, Tommy Franks’ Arab General, spends most of his time poolside in Florida, sucking up lemonade and whistling for more finger sandwiches. His main exertion is leaning forward to have more suntan lotion swabbed on his back.
As for Sanchez his main command skills were show cased for the world as he assigned little Miss England to the duty of show girl at the prisoner abuse follies held nightly at Abu Ghraib.
Don’t be fooled – the upper command of the American military, as a result of the mismanagement of Bush and Rumsfeld is a hodge-podge of these incompetents. A patchwork of buffoons to whom is entrusted the military might of the United States of America.
Tommy Franks –Little Tin Soldier – wind him up and watch him try to knock down the truth.
