Television Crime Dramas

Television or the present content on television is blocking information getting to people. The type of material that used to be distributed by newspapers is now primarily being transmitted via the internet. Television – through the selection of the programs being broadcast is blocking the normal transfer of this information further.
National broadcasting of ‘crime-dramas’ that deal with child murder or drugs and which are financed by advertisers blocks real coverage and response to real local problems.
What may not be obvious to advertisers like Kellogg’s, Sears, McDonald’s, Walmart, Pfizer and others is that even though they may believe they are getting a bargain by advertising with these trashy, violent and oftentimes psychotic programs – they are missing even more cost savings and profits by not going direct to local markets and so they pass up real, cost-effective entertainment that would be chock-full of good information and good will.
Of course – the larger drug makers who sell drugs which treat depression or other psychological problems and who often advertise during the running of these horrible programs are NOT likely to be interested in stopping the broadcasting of television shows that feed on and support and encourage fear, excessive sorrow, dramatic emotion, violence, rage and other aberrant behavior.
When you watch your television shows are you actually aware of what it is you are watching?
Are you watching it because there is nothing else on or because you enjoy stories about children being murdered, women being raped and men reacting with violent rage?
