British Petroleum and Regional Transmission Organizations

BP is too big to jail.
Marie-Antoinette (1755-93), the Queen consort of Louis XVI is reported to have said, "Let them eat cake."
Randy Prescott, VP Power Origination & Marketing, is reported to have said, “Louisiana isn’t the only place that has shrimp.”
BP isn’t afraid of anyone or anything. They are too big to jail, too big to fail.
For example - BP has fuel oil interests in every major and most minor markets in the United States today. One of the more interesting examples is provided by their participation with ISO New England.
“ISO New England is an independent, not-for-profit corporation. To effectively carry out its charge, the company, its Board of Directors and its 400 employees have no financial interest or ties to any company doing business in the region's wholesale electricity marketplace.”
“ISO New England helps protect the health of New England's economy and the well-being of its people by ensuring the constant availability of electricity, today and for future generations. ISO New England meets this obligation in three ways: by ensuring the day-to-day reliable operation of New England's bulk power generation and transmission system, by overseeing and ensuring the fair administration of the region's wholesale electricity markets, and by managing comprehensive, regional planning processes.”
ISO New England is just one of many ‘Regional Transmission Organizations’ which oversee electric power distribution in the United States. You are serviced by at least one.
Why are ‘public non-profit’ companies allowing foreign corporations like BP to pollute our waters?
