BP - Too Big to Jail

British Petroleum is backed by the British Government - they issued a statement as such.
That is good that the British Government should be held responsible for payments of reparation to the United States for this and other destructive accidents British Petroleum has allowed to happen and caused within the territory of the United States.
What about their partners?
MOEX is owned by MOECO - Mitsui Oil Exploration.
In September 2007, MOEX USA Corporation ("MOEX USA") established MOEX Offshore 2007 LLC, its wholly-owned subsidiary. In October 2007, MOEX Offshore 2007 LLC won a open bid and participated in an ultra deep gas exploration project in the Gulf of Mexico together with BP Exploration & Production Inc., the operator.
It is neither here nor there but in November 2008 MOECO established its Hanoi Representavie Office in Vietnam to develop drilling sites off the coast of Northern Vietnam.
Anadarko apparently owns a big chunk of the operation too. They are out of Texas and are currently operating at least 8 deepwater oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico.
It is my opinion that Anadarko, Mitsui and British Petroleum should lose their Federal leases in the Gulf of Mexico and vacate their operations and turn them over to more responsible vendors.
…but BP, Anadarko and Mitsui will go on plundering United States oil and the Federal Government will go on selling our resources.
Do you believe that any one or any company is ever ‘Too Big to Jail’ and ‘Too Big to Fail’?
