Long Beach Aquarium and BP

The Long Beach Aquarium in Long Beach, California is a ‘non-profit’ organization. They do actually charge a fee for entry but the enterprise is arranged as a ‘non-profit’. Private individuals and corporations can then take the amount that they donate off their taxes.
British Petroleum is foreign company.
A refinery of theirs in Texas blew up with the force of a small nuclear bomb and the Alasakan Oil Pipeline still leaks frequently and in large quantities. Recently they used technology designed for 50 to 300 feet of water at a depth of over 5,000 feet and a massive oil spill has occurred.
The food chain the Gulf of Mexico has been broken. Until recently 60 percent of American seafood came out of the Gulf of Mexico.
Four years ago BP donated $1 million to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach for a Sea Otter habitat.
BP has killed or maimed Thousands of Pelicans, terns, seagulls, porpoises, dolphins along with interrupting the life cycle of and killing untold millions of fish including but not limited to : pompano, wahoo, sturgeon, red fish, tuna, pompano, shad, anchovy, sheepshead, sea bream, mackerel, triggerfish, catfish, menhaden, spinner shark, silky shark, bull shark, blacktip shark, oceanic whitetip shark, dusky shark, bank sea bass, rock sea bass, black sea bass…
Don’t you think the Long Beach Aquarium should give that dirty money back or donate it to cleaning up an aquatic environment from which they derive the income they use to run their ‘non-profit’?
