NASA Weapons

Another NASA blunder.
This time they crashed a spacecraft into a satellite.
It damaged the spacecraft and nearly destroyed the out of service satellite.
Both items are now catapulting around the earth in wild orbits causing danger to our communications satellite system.
Just more million dollar NASA space junk.
It is called DART. That stands for Demonstration for Autonomous Rendezvous.
The accident has been investigated and the word is that this failure could be directly attributed to the management of the mission. There appeared to be a general lack of training and not much experience amongst the team which had been showered with money and advantage.
That’s about it for honesty, however, as NASA is refusing to release the full 70 page report.
They are saying that sensitive information is in the report that is protected by International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
The satellite they destroyed was operated by the Pentagon. NASA, which is supposed to be working on civilian space projects is apparently involved in military missions.
Keep in mind that the result of this failure was a successful impact with a military satellite.
This shot was managed from Marshall Space Center in Huntsville, Alabama and was built by Orbital Sciences Corp.
Orbital Sciences Corporation specializes in missile defense systems.

Their main offices are in Dulles, Virginia.
They are now trading on the New York Stock Exchange at nearly 16 dollars a share - up from 8 dollars a share last year.
Don’t expect to see that report.

Columbia University

It is led by Jeffrey Sachs, a Columbia University economics professor. Lack of progress in meeting the goals of U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan to reduce poverty moved him to start the Millennium Development Project. Sachs started one project in Sauri, Kenya to alleviate poverty.
Before we discuss his success it needs to be stated that Kenya is one of the more successful nations in Africa. It’s success can be measured by the fact that it is not on the list of countries to be relieved of debt because it has been paying its obligations.
Some aid has been cut off from Kenya as a matter of fact because of the corruption in the nation. Much of the aid has been siphoned off to government officials.
Sachs insists Sauri is a success, though, and is intent on providing the means for Sauri to become able to sustain economic growth.
That’s a far cry from ending poverty. That’s something more.
Sachs works out of the ‘Earth Institute’ at Columbia. It’s motto is ‘Mobilizing the Sciences and Public Policy to Build a Prosperous and Sustainable Future’.
The focus of the ‘Earth Institute’ seems a little fuzzy. On their web site are included along with pep talks about Sauri, Kenya and ending poverty are an advertisement for Mr. Sachs book (forward by Bono – the U2 rock star) available at Barnes and Noble and articles with titles like ‘Sea Turtles’ Long Dangerous Trip Home’, ‘Sweating the Science’ and ‘Cassini Spacecraft Reveals Lake-Like Feature on Titan’.

It’s one thing to propose a solution and try to make it work. It’s another to wrap up ideas with a nice bow, put them in a book and sell them for cash so that well fed, well healed celebrities can avoid the real problems.
There is no food or trade in southern Sudan because the Arabs in the north want to starve out the people living their and sell the oil for cash.
There is no stopping the religious war in Uganda because as the people are driven out mining companies and oil companies move in and take their land.
There is no will to slow the spread of violence throughout Africa because the soldiers take gold, jewels and other commodities and give them to international arms dealers in order to buy guns and ammunition and other weapons.
The trade in death is lucrative for a great many people.
People that donate money each year to Columbia University.

Barn Door Bush

Barn Door Bush.
Mr. Bush has called up the National Guard to ‘protect’ our nation’s border against illegal immigration from Mexico.
It’s a little late for that.
He could have said something to the Federal Government when he was governor of Texas and 5 million illegal immigrants were flooding into that state (and our country). The general idea in Texas at the time was that illegal immigrants helped fuel their economy so no one said anything except to call for more illegal immigrants.
Car washes, lawn care companies, construction work, food processing, manufacturing and other jobs were given to illegal immigrants and taken away from Americans. The argument is they were doing jobs that Americans would not. Everyone knows that is not true.
It might be more effective to station National Guard troops outside of Tyson chicken packaging plants or Cargill processing facilities or any cotton gin across the nation.
The impact on our nation is serious. For example, Tyson forced the price of chicken up at companies like Perdue that obeyed our national laws.
The food processing jobs are not at McDonald’s. They are in meat packing and even frozen food production.
Why would Mr. Bush turn around quickly?
The National Guard is done in Iraq. The regular Army is taking over and the Guardsmen coming home need work.
The fact is the work isn’t here.
They can point their guns south while behind them millions of illegal immigrants do the jobs that Americans are not allowed to do.
